Les Collectionneurs change their name to Teritoria

The first mission hotel community

Founded in 1975, the Les Collectionneurs community of independent hoteliers and restaurateurs has opened a new chapter in its history by becoming Teritoria.

This rebranding completes the network’s shift towards committed hospitality. From now on, Teritoria members will be united by a common foundation of concrete, measurable commitments to meet 3 major challenges: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving working conditions and preserving biodiversity.

Teritoria s’est également dotée d’une raison d’être et d’objectifs sociaux et environnementaux qu’elle entend poursuivre dans le cadre de ses activités ; elle devient ainsi la première chaîne volontaire à mission du secteur.

Alain Ducasse, Brand Chairman Teritoria

To make sure that travel is always a source of amazement, to make sure that tourism helps our regions and cultures shine, to make sure that hospitality leaves its mark on people’s minds, but not on the planet…

Teritoria is committed to the prosperity of its members, the regions, to promoting virtuous practices with its collaborators and partners, and to making sustainable discoveries the preferred choice of all travelers.
– Teritoria’s raison d’être, at the roots of hospitality –

Thanks to Teritoria, the network is reaffirming its European roots and its commitment to helping travelers discover human-scale establishments that encourage encounters, promote their terroirs and perpetuate their passion for hospitality. The community comprises 430 charming addresses, mostly 4-star hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants. The Teritoria website positions itself as an ally to travelers, enabling them to book directly with the establishments of their choice, commission-free. The level of commitment for each establishment is displayed directly on its description page.

Based on the principle that if you want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, you have to measure them first, all the hoteliers and restaurateurs in the network have committed to carrying out a carbon footprint assessment of their establishment every two years, using the Clorofil.eco(1) tool, and to take part in the reduction process. This commitment will enable Teritoria to become the first chain to measure and communicate its carbon footprint. Once this is known, Teritoria will work with its members to set annual reduction targets, which will be monitored by the mission committee.

As a company with a mission, Teritoria has set up a Mission Committee, a new governance body that will ensure that the company achieves its objectives. The committee is made up of a hotelier, a restaurateur, a traveler, a human resources expert, an environmental expert and a company employee.
It will meet annually and draw up a report to be presented at the Annual General Meeting called to approve the company’s accounts.

Hospitality is the art of caring for others, and it starts with your own staff. For this reason, all Teritoria’s hoteliers and restaurateurs are committed to evaluating their managerial practices using the QVCT Peace&Work label. This label gives a voice to employees, and enables us to find out how they perceive the actions already in place, as well as any readjustments they would like to see. It also awards a distinction according to the score obtained by the establishment. Teritoria members must achieve at least the bronze distinction level.

Biodiversity is under threat, not least because of the pressure exerted by human activities, including tourism. Teritoria has therefore decided, on behalf of and with all its members, to finance agroforestry projects in the heart of France and Italy(2) by two players: Agroof and XXX. Agroforestry combines trees with crops and livestock, with numerous benefits including the development of biodiversity, animal welfare, soil conservation and water resources, while reshaping the landscape.

« With Teritoria, we want to affirm a change of direction, in line with the challenges facing the tourism industry and the values already held by the Collectors. We’re particularly proud to involve our community in this new adventure through shared commitments to reducing our carbon footprint and the QVCT. »

Carole Pourchet, General Manager, Teritoria
