Why ?

Because tourism today is undergoing considerable upheaval. Whether we are professionals or travellers, we are all facing unprecedented environmental, social and cultural challenges.

Because we have decided to take responsibility and commit ourselves to sincere and sustainable hospitality.


For all these reasons, we, the Teritoria hoteliers and restaurateurs, are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, looking after the well-being of our staff and supporting the agriculture that beautifies our countryside.

Teritoria is more than just a new name, it’s a new mission: to invent tourism that makes people love the world. Today, we are Teritoria.

Since 1975, Teritoria has embodied a unique vision of hotels and restaurants. By carefully selecting establishments on a human scale, we invite you to discover a hospitality rooted in its territory, far from the crowds and impersonal standards.

Each Teritoria establishment is a place for sharing, where a warm welcome, local gastronomy and a deep attachment to the land combine to offer travellers an authentic and unforgettable experience.

Because every desire is different, we have set up unique classifications for our homes, so that you can choose your next destination:

Keys for hotels :

To offer you an experience tailored to your needs, choose your next hotel or guest house by relying on our keys. This classification is based on a number of criteria: customer satisfaction, the environment and setting, the quality of the rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, the care taken with breakfast, the outside fittings, and the little touches that make all the difference. Based on these criteria, we assign a number of keys to each house, corresponding to one of the three categories below:

Spoons for restaurants:

We have set up a separate classification for our restaurants, called Tables Remarquables, to guarantee a culinary experience that meets your expectations. This classification is based on several criteria: customer satisfaction, the prestige of the restaurant, the use of raw and artisanal products, respect for the seasonality of products, the emphasis placed on local sourcing and the promotion of producers. Once assessed, the restaurants are divided into four categories:

All Teritoria’s hoteliers and restaurateurs are committed to assessing the carbon footprint® of their business every 2 years using the Clorofil calculator.

This is the 1st carbon footprint calculator dedicated to the hotel and restaurant sector, which has also been awarded the title of winner of the first France Tourisme Tech promotion, a government initiative that rewards innovative solutions in the sector.

Once this assessment has been carried out, our establishments are also committed to reducing their impact over time, by controlling their energy and water consumption, giving preference to local products, recycling their waste and acting in favour of biodiversity.

At Teritoria, all our hoteliers and restaurateurs are committed to evaluating the satisfaction of their teams every two years through the label, a system specially designed for the hotel and restaurant sector.

The label is based on an anonymous questionnaire sent to employees, which assesses five key criteria: corporate culture, team cohesion, pride in belonging, working conditions and fairness. 

On the basis of the results obtained, a precise action plan is put in place to improve the social practices of the establishments, and in the case of good results, the establishment can receive a distinction according to the level achieved.

By joining the Teritoria community, each establishment undertakes to reach at least Bronze level, demonstrating its commitment to an ambitious and respectful social policy. To find out more, go to peacework.majorian.fr

In addition to these 2 commitments made by our establishments, Teritoria is committed to biodiversity. We finance agroforestry projects in the heart of France and Italy, donating a percentage of our turnover each year to this cause.

Agroforestry involves putting trees back at the heart of agricultural production, giving biodiversity a future, breathing life into the planet and beautifying our landscapes.


On the basis of these 3 commitments (controlling the carbon footprint, taking into account the well-being of employees and protecting biodiversity), Teritoria became the first company with an independent hospitality mission in November 2023.

Since the PACTE Act, the status of ‘mission-driven company’ has enabled companies to set themselves a social and/or environmental objective in their articles of association by means of a raison d’être and dedicated objectives. The mission-driven company then sets up a new governance body to ensure that these objectives are taken into account in each of its strategic choices: the mission committee. In 2023, Teritoria became the first community of hotels and restaurants with a mission to transform the sector towards greater sustainability.

Our mission committee :

Travellers, hoteliers, restaurateurs, experts in human resources and environmental issues, our committee is made up of 11 members whose role is to assess our actions and challenge the ambition of the objectives set.
