At the foot of Sicily’s Etna volcano, Barone di Villagrande is a century-old vineyard with roots in a once arid, now fertile terroir. It was here that the Nicolosi family, in the area since the 17th century, wrote a large part of Etna’s and Italy’s oenological history.
In the heart of the vineyards and surrounding woods, a former 18th-century palace welcomes you in its 4 rooms, designed to make every traveler feel at home in a completely renovated residence of Italian nobility.
With its panoramic infinity pool, 700 meters above sea level, overlooking the vineyards, Barone di Villagrande is the perfect address for an exceptional Wine Retreat.
In the restaurant, chef Vittorio Caruso blends tradition and inventiveness with the seasons, celebrating organic and local produce.
