In Assisi, in the Italian Umbria region, Castello di Petrata is an ancient 14th-century fortress and its chapel, superbly converted into a charming hotel-restaurant by Giuseppina Orbi. Set between the plains and the hills, some twenty rooms and suites offer the chance to recharge your batteries in direct contact with nature. Decorated with quality, characterful materials, they are comfortable and bright. Opening onto the lush, flower-filled expanse of the 20-hectare park, they offer the pleasure of being lulled to sleep by the chirping of birds. A relaxing stay par excellence, this establishment boasts a restaurant serving local and artisanal specialities, an outdoor swimming pool, a sauna, a hammam, a whirlpool bath and a relaxation room.
