Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, founder of the cooperative banks, was born in 1818 in the former bailiff’s house (Alte Vogtei) in Hamm/Sieg. Built in 1753, this venerable half-timbered building, a witness to the history of the Westerwald, has preserved its original architecture, giving it a very special atmosphere.
Our well-appointed rooms, with exposed beams or overlooking the garden, combine tradition with modern comfort. Now in its 5th generation, the Romantik Hotel Alte Vogtei looks forward to welcoming you. Influenced by his years of apprenticeship in France, Markus Wortelkamp offers tasty menus featuring fresh local produce.
